A roofer checking shingles along a ridge line

A roof inspection is the simplest way to find out where your roof stands before small problems turn into leaks. Knowing what happens during the visit makes it easier to plan.

Before the Visit

Note any spots where you have seen stains, drips or loose shingles. If you know roughly how old the roof is, that helps too.

What We Check

The inspection covers the roof surface and the details around it:

  • Shingles that are cracked, curled, lifted or missing
  • Flashing around chimneys, vents and valleys
  • Gutters, downspouts and the roof edge
  • Signs of moisture in the attic, when it is accessible

After the Inspection

You get a plain explanation of what we found, photos of anything that needs attention, and a clear recommendation, whether that is a small repair, routine upkeep or nothing at all.

The best time to fix a roof problem is while it is still small.

How Often to Inspect

Most homes do well with an inspection every year or two, and after any storm that brings hail or strong wind.
